google map widget

it seems your widget is missing some parameters , i have add our address but it points way off the location , i found out that the zip code maybe the issue as some areas have secondary numbers but your widget dose not support it is there away to use the shared link google provides ? that would make it more easy to handle

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kumkumji,

Could you clarify why you don’t think our widget supports zip codes? I’m able to use Zip / Post codes without issue. Could you send me the full address which isn’t working as desired (with and without the zip code)?

If you would like to keep this address private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

You’re able to use the Google Map embed code but not the share link (as that doesn’t function in the same manner). You can embed it directly into your page via something like an editor widget?

    Hi Alex ,
    thanks for the reply

sure for example check our address in google :

    https://goo.gl/maps/LbBi4pwsuCk

you can see that our full address is :

5266 Abu Al Nasr Al Khateeb Street, Al Nahdah, Jeddah 23615-7373

your widget is sending us to zip 23615 and ignoring the 7373 part

so it is way off the area we are located in

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kumkumji,

So I’ve run a few tests and I don’t think our widget is the problem. Could you do me a favor and try and find a plugin / widget where your address is working correctly? Based on your results you’ll find that none of them display the data as desired. Now the reason why I asked you to do this before telling you why this is the case is because you won’t believe me otherwise. So basically, as odd as it sounds, maps.google.com and maps.googleapis.com are different – they use they use different data.

For reference, here is what we send and receive from Google for your address.

The blue text being what we sent, and the yellow text being the formatted address we got back from them. You’ll see mention of a partial match. This is due to the address submitted not matching what they have on record. So this means that the data Google has on record for this address for its API isn’t correct.

Normally the only thing you can do to work around this (as you can’t correct it) is to use latitude and longitude. However you have an alternative, use the Arabic address as Google Maps API has that on record – 5266 ابو النصر الخطيب، An Nahdah District, Jeddah 23615 7373, Saudi Arabia.

Let me know if this helps. :)
