Hello,
I’ve managed to jump through the API hurdles so my map loads fine. Including my markers. The only remaining problem for me is that I can’t get a route displayed on my map via the Directions feature. No directions or routes will render despite entering a start and finish point.
I’ve enabled all of the following APIs, still no luck.
Google Maps Directions API
Google Maps Distance Matrix API
Google Maps Elevation API
Google Maps Embed API
Google Maps Geocoding API
Google Maps Javascript API
Google Maps Roads API
Google Places API Web Service
Google Static Maps API
Any suggestions?
Thank you.
Hi Seth,
Hm. The only missing API key that I think you may need is the Geolocation API so try enabling that. If that doesn’t work, try creating a new key via this page.
Hi Alex,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I’ve tried enabling all of the APIs using the page you noted.
Also, I have regenerated the API key. Tried new API keys. Still getting nothing.
The page error I’m getting is this:
Google Maps API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError
I have added my HTTP referrer as indicated in the credentials section. *.example.com/*
Yet I continue to get the error. Sigh.
Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Seth,
Maybe try removing all of the referer’s to see if works then? You, just to rule it out as the cause.
If that doesn’t help, Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?
Alex,
Thanks again for the reply.
Good news, I removed the referrer and it seems to be working now. Google warns against this, but I’ll go ahead with it since I’ve run out of options.
Here’s the page (map is at the bottom) http://sethkhughes.com/2016-road-trip-highlights/
My next question is, do you know how I can hide the points (A, B, C, D…) on the directions so that I can add and customize my own markers?
Thank you again.
Hi Seth,
Odd stuff. Maybe triple check you got the URL correct?
Unfortunately, this isn’t possible without a fair amount of custom coding. This is beyond the scope of what we can help you with on the forums, but you could hire a developer to implement this for you. Sorry mate. :(
We highly recommend using Codeable.
