Google Analytics Tracking Issues

6 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 6 years ago

Hello, I am using Site Origin module and recently I found on my Google Analytics that it is tracking my sessions when I am on Live Mode Editor. How can I stop this? Any advice is welcomed? Thanks all!

    Hi PR_101,

When the Live Editor is active we add a Query Parameter to the URL. That parameter is: siteorigin_panels_live_editor

Google Analytics allows you to exclude certain urls or parameters from being tracked so you can use this parameter to exclude those specific urls. You can exclude a parameter by following these instructions and you can exclude urls with the live editor parameter by following these instructions (exclude CONTAINS %%SITEORIGIN_PANELS_LIVE_EDITOR%%). Which route you take really comes down to personal preference.

    Thank you for your reply.

There is a field Exclude URL Query Parameters:
Inside I just pasted this: siteorigin_panels_live_editor

    Then saved it.
Is that all I have to do.

    Thank you! :)

    Hi PR_101,

Yes, that’s all that’s required by Google Analytics.
