German content breaks homepage editor

Hi there,

I have Vantage installed on UTF-8 site. it works perfect with both English and Bulgarian. When German text (with symbols) is inserted in any of the component it breaks. All the component just dissapears from the home page. Please help

    Hi. Please can you check for me:

    1. Dashboard > Updates – update everything that has an update pending.
    2. Plugins: Temporarily disable all non-SiteOrigin plugins.

    Does the problem persist after doing the above?

    yes. it persists after update. can’t paste text like the word “Begräbnisse” in widget content

    can you confirm that the page builder works with German?

    Ok.

    1. And additionally you disabled all non-SiteOrigin plugins and still encountered the issue?

    2. What widget are you pasting the German in with?

    1. SiteOrigin and MetaSlider are the only installed plugins
    2. Vantage Headline and Text stop working when german symbols are pasted in as content

    i have another installation of Vantage on another host and it makes the same problem there too

    Hi Svilen. Please try setting the language variable in wp-config.php to de_DE and let me know if there is any change.

    it did not help unfortunately

    i’ve updated to German WP and it all works except for the page builder

    The issue I looked yesterday wasn’t in Page Builder exclusively. When I pasted German content into a regular post Visual Editor there was a rendering issue. Has that resolved?

    I believe this is a general WordPress database issue. Try switching over to Twenty Fourteen with Page Builder off and create a new post, in German and Publish it. Special characters are not being correctly saved.

    At the moment I’m not sure how to deal with this. I have utf-8 character set declaration in my WordPress demo and I’m able to render German characters.
