Full width with Astra

By Mark, 5 years ago. Last reply by Mark, 5 years ago.

Hi support team,

Astra is a light weight popular theme. SiteOrigin is also light weight and super fast loading. I am interested to build my website with these two.

Astra has four content layout options. There is a “Full Wdith / Stretched” and “Full Width /Contained”. There are four types of row layout in SiteOrigin page builder,”standard”,”full width”,”full width stretched”,”full width stretched padded”. I am totally confused. None of this option can make a full width row with background image while keeping other contents respecting “Container Width” set in custoizer.

I simply build two pages with preset layouts from layout directory. Please check the link here. http://concrete-wire-saw.com

Maybe I miss some setting in page builder?

P.S.: Container Width in customizer: 1200px;
Full Width Container in Page builder setting: body

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mark,

    I can’t comment on the Astra layouts due to my unfamiliarity with them, but I can state that the Full Width Row Layout will allow for you to create a full width background/color with a content container… or at least that’s how its meant to work. I’ve had a look at the linked page and it looks like Astra specifically includes CSS that prevents our row layouts from working as intended so I suspect their layouts have something in place to allow for the (intentionally disabled) row layouts to work as desired. I would reach out to Astra to for instructions on bypassing the imposed limitations on row layouts or if that’s not possible, alternatives to accomplish the same look.

    Unfortunately, the method Astra is using to disable Row Layouts prevents me from overriding their CSS.

    Hi Alex,

    Thank you for the super fast reponse. Astra has a spefic page about the layout options for page builders. Maybe you have a check. I will select Fullwidth / Stretched from Astra and use addition css to set the max width of the row. :) Thank you.

    Hi Mark,

    Unfortunately, we can’t really provide any direct assistance in this situation so if Astra doesn’t provide any easy method of using the row layouts, you will sadly have to use the method you outlined. I’m sorry, I wish there was something we could do to avoid this.
