I have attached the urls for 2 screen shots of a layout sketch (awaiting the actual photography).
I can’t work out how to get the image layout to work.
This is what I’d like to achieve: http://socialsafari.com.au/what_I_want_to_achieve.jpg
• The background colour starts at screen edge
• Image aligned to where the right hand sidebar starts (allowing for margin/gutter)
• The image is set on a blue background – I’m going to photoshop the left side of the image blue so it blends to the background colour
I can do this without full width stretch but it’s not the desired result http://socialsafari.com.au/what_I_can_achieve.jpg
Can you help?
Hi sazzybee
Let’s try sort out the background color first, we can go from there.
Edit the row in question by clicking the wrench icon on the far right. Click Attributes and enter the following into the third field that is labelled CSS Styles:
Change #000 to your preferred blue. You can also adjust the percentages in use, just make sure they total 100%. 50/50 should be fine since the image will cover part of the row.
Let me know how things look once this is done.
I like your thinking! Yes, done :-)
Super, glad to hear that helped.
Let us know if you need a further hand.
Yep! I only got direction for the background, I still need help with the image placement, so that it stops at the sidebar (currently appears behind the sidebar)
I’m not sure of the correct way to set this up, which is the correct widget to use etc
This is what I’d like to achieve: http://socialsafari.com.au/what_I_want_to_achieve.jpg
• The background colour starts at screen edge (YES)
• Image aligned to where the right hand sidebar starts (allowing for margin/gutter) NO
Full Width and Full Width Stretched, unfortunately, weren’t designed to be used with a sidebar as they go right across the page.
I’d consider dropping the sidebar, adding two columns to your row, adding the image to the one using the Visual Editor widget and the form to the other. I’d use Full Width and not Full Width Stretched. Perhaps that’ll work for you.
