Hello SiteOrigin Team,
My issue is only the Standard Row Layout seems to be working fine. I have tried disabling all plugins except the SiteOrigin Page Builder and its Widgets Bundle as well as tried switching different Themes, but still NO LUCK. I’m not so sure what’s going on and I can’t give any live link as I’m working on my local computer.
It depends on the Theme, the rows are either has more padding on the right or left side of the rows, meaning they all can’t be centered unless I use Standard Row Layout only.
Anyway, thanks for all the effort you put for this wonderful product. We really appreciate it, please keep up the good work. :)
I forgot to include that I’m using the latest versions of the plugins.
I also notice that when I refresh the page especially a hard refresh, the layout changes sometimes. It sometimes has more padding on the left and sometimes on the right. But again, when I use the Standard Row Layout, all seems working well(perfectly centered). But we all know that we also need a Full-Width Row Layout to stretch a background.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Randzgonz02.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to replicate this issue. Does this issue occur for you when all non-SiteOrigin plugins are disabled and you’re using default WordPress themes? If so, can you please would it be possible for you to send me an export of one of the pages where this issue is occurring? This will allow me to run some tests and work out if there are any settings causing this issue.
To export a page, please open up the page builder page powered page in the editor and click the Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as WeTransfer (no email is required).
Hello Alex,
Yes, I still have the issue even after disabling ALL non-Siteorigin plugins. And this is not for a specific page only as I also tried creating a new page which only has 1 paragraph content in it and set the row layout to Full-Width and the issue is still there. So I’m not so sure if the import file would be useful but here it is https://we.tl/t-14CrXgJLGl. That’s the new page I just created with 1 paragraph only.
Thanks,
Randy
I tried Chrome and Firefox and they have the same result. Here’s a screenshot http://prntscr.com/mvz98y.
Hi Randzgonz02,
Thanks. What you’re experiencing is expected behavior with the Full Width Row Layout. The Full Width Row Layout will leave space for the theme’s sidebar. You can prevent this by using the Full Width Stretched Row Layout or by removing your sidebar.
No, I’m very sure that there’s no sidebar on that page as I know how to disable it. Here’s a better screenshot and now the padding was moved on the left side if you can notice compared to the first screenshot http://prntscr.com/mvzmff.
I don’t know if this can help but, it seems that when I tried resizing the browser, it sometimes recalculated and would have an exact position in the center. Though, most of the time, it has more padding on the left or right after resizing like the screenshots I gave.
Hi Randzgonz02,
If the theme you’re using doesn’t have a sidebar (or the spacing remains after removing it), you should change the Full Width Container. Please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Layout tab. Set Full With Container to .wrap-container and save. How does that look? Please note that this setting will need to be reverted back to body if you change theme.
It seems that it got worse now after the solution you gave http://prntscr.com/mw01rv.
Anyway, here’s the screenshot of Standard Row Layout which seems working very well http://prntscr.com/mvzxuh.
Hi Randzgonz02,
Unfortunately, at this stage, I really need to inspect your website to work out what’s going wrong as we’re unable to replicate this. Is it possible for you to put this website temporarily online so I can inspect this issue on your website?
Hello Alex,
Lucky one I’m using Local by Flywheel so I can generate a temporary link for you as long as my computer is on.
Here http://e6d68269.ngrok.io/.
Hi Randzgonz02,
Thanks. Can you please temporarily change to a default WordPress theme and disable the sidebar so I can inspect the results? You’ll also need to reset the Full Width Container setting to body.
Your replies are publicly posted so I’ve removed the provided login details from your reply. I’m unable to directly login using the provided details as that’s outside the scope of free support.
I see, my apology.
Yes, I’ve now changed the Theme to Twenty Nineteen and reset the Full Width Container. Please try to check the About page I just created or maybe just create a new one with Full Width Row Layout so you may see the issue.
Thanks Alex
Sorry, I forgot that you’re unable to create a new page. Here’s the about page link http://e6d68269.ngrok.io/en/about/.
Hi Randzgonz02,
Thanks. Twenty Nineteen actually leaves space for the sidebar regardless of whether its output or not so SiteOrigin Page Builder will pick up on this and account for that spacing. Please try any of the previous default themes.
You seem right as I just inspected this Twenty Nineteen theme and I just noticed that the background is stretched now unlike the custom theme I was using which is the Sage Starter Theme by Roots. I will try to troubleshoot again now as I’m kind of confused now. I’ve been using this starter theme for a while with siteorigin page builder and didn’t have this problem before. Thanks for your help so far Alex. Really appreciate it. Will update soon.
