Full width menu stopped working

Hi

I’ve been using the Vantage theme for many years with Ubermenu in full screen without any issues. However, I’ve recently migrated my site to another server and I’ve noticed the menu is no longer in fullscreen – it has small spaces at either end of the menu even though nothing has been changed in the theme or CSS. Is there some CSS that I’m missing? I’ve tried a few suggestions online but the issue remains.

My website is: https://www.footballandthefirstworldwar.org/

Many thanks in advance

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Iain,

    I’ve had a look at your website and I’m seeing three theme stylesheets being output. Two of them are coming from your child theme. That suggests there is likely an issue occurring with the child theme and that’s potentially related. Did you make any modifications to the child theme during the move? Does this issue occur if you temporarily switch to the parent theme?

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi Alex

    Thanks for the reply. I’ve not made any modifications during the switch and the issue is still there if I temporarily switch to the parent theme.

    The hosting company did the migration for me and nothing has been changed as far as I’m aware.

    Thanks

    Just to add – I’ve got the sticky menu option activated and when I scroll down the sticky menu is full width. When I scroll back to the top, the main menu still has the gaps at each end.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Iain,

    Thanks for checking. The gap is due to some missing CSS not overriding the default menu spacing. It’s possible this CSS was somehow lost during the move if it was working as expected. Regardless, you can remove this spacing by navigating to AppearanceCustom CSS and adding the following CSS:

    #masthead.site-header {
        padding-right: 0;
        padding-left: 0;
    }

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.

    Kind regards,
    Alex

    Hi Alex

    Thanks but that’s not worked unfortunately. I’ve just tried the parent theme temporarily again and the menu stretched to the full width of the page container without spaces but I can’t get it to go full width to the entire page – how would I do the latter so I can see if it works?

    Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Iain,

    Thanks for trying. It appears you’ve managed to get the spacing removed. Do you still require assistance with this?

    Kind regards,
    Alex
