Full Screen Help

Hi there

Need a little help over here :)

I am massive a website building noob.

I have built a site and I am using one of your prebuilt layouts and it is all working well. You can see it here – http://www.SoundHealingSydney.com.au

What I was hoping to do, was also change my blog page http://www.SoundHealingSydney.com.au/blog – so it to also be full width like my home page.. I have tried the full page options (no sidebar etc)… but i was hoping it would go from the far left and far right of the screen like the home page.

I hope you know what I mean.

Full page on my blog and full page (on my home page) seam to be two different things.

If you can help me, that would be great.

I currently do not have my blog loaded into the site origin page builder (as i was going to do it if I could sort out this issue).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
M!

    Hi M,

    Edit: Awkwardly I misread what you were asking. :( Regardless, it’s still decent advice. The actual answer to your is in my second reply – sorry!

    Old reply:

    Unfortunately, this isn’t possible with the WordPress recent posts page. :( With that said, you could instead make a custom “blog” page. In SiteOrigin Page Builder there’s a widget called the post loop widget (I would recommend installing the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle to enhance the usability of that widget) which will allow you to perfectly replicate your recent posts page. That way you can you’ll be able to have your desired custom blog page. :)

    Hi M,

    You can change this with some custom CSS. If you navigate to AppearanceCustom CSS, you’ll get our custom CSS editor. Just add the following code.

    .blog .site-content {	max-width: none !important;}.blog .post-content {	border: none !important;}

    Please note you may need to make further styling changes to improve the overall design. I would still recommend using my initial, admittedly unrelated, solution as that’ll give you more control without having to touch CSS.

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.

    Thanks Alex.

    Sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you! Your code worked perfectly! Thanks mate.

    Only problem I have now is I updated the plugin and my main home page is now no longer max width?

    Any ideas mate???

    I haven’t touched anything and it is based on one of your templates…

    Many thanks,

    Mark.

    I mean… My home page… http://www.SoundHealingSydney.com.au use to have all the content stretch from the far left hand side of the screen to the far right. Absolutely no page limitations at all. All the images and text use to stretch according to the front page template. (If that makes sense) far left to far right (like the orange that you can see at the bottom of my home page). If you can imagine. Like the orange colour stretches all the way… so did my images and my text.. Now I have done the SO’s update now it seams to be all limited to the width of the menu.

    Please help, I have no other way of explaining myself.

    I tried to reload the template on a new page and assigned it to my ‘home’ and the same thing was happening.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for being such a noob.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mark,

    I’m not too sure what happened but I can definitely see limits set in place by your theme about how large that container can be. Regardless, you can avoid this issue by enforcing full width. Please open the row by clicking the wrench icon above the row. Then head over to the row styles sidebar and open the layout settings group. Set the row layout to full width stretched and tell me if this allows for those rows to be full width.

    Alterntively, we can override the theme CSS so that there’s no maximum width with some custom CSS. If you navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustom CSS, you’ll get our custom CSS editor. Just add the following code.

    .entry-content .container {	max-width: none !important;}

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.
