Dear Andrew,
I keep on changing the page assigned to “Front Page” in the Appearance>Customize>Static Front Page. Actually not really. I had a page assigned and later decided to put another page as front page. So I changed the page by using the drop down list and clicked save and publish. The preview then correctly displays the new page.
When i leave this menue and work on other matters and than later come back to the >Customize section the page assigne dto front page is back set to the original page.
Is there any place where I accidentially override this settngs?

is the problem description clear?
When i say “keep on changing” I mean that I over and over again changed to the same new page as front page and it is just not accepted. Do you need access to my website?

Sorry to hear about this. Yes, quite clear. Please head to Appearance > Home Page and ensure that’s turned OFF if you aren’t using it. Then head to Settings > Reading and set your static home page there and save. See if setting it there and not in the Customizer has any effect.
