Footer problem on the homepage

Can you help me diagnose the footer problem on my homepage? The blue background should be full width, like it is on the inner pages. Viewing the source code for the footer widget, it is identical on all pages. I have been tinkering with this for a few hours and just can’t figure out what is causing it.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chris

Your footer has been added to the primary div on the home page, constraining it to the width of that div. Have you edited any theme code via Appearance > Editor or any other means?

If the above doesn’t apply you could try de-activating all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if there is any change.

    Andrew,

Thank you for the reply. I haven’t made any changes to the php files. I’ve only used custom CSS, but that shouldn’t cause the div elements to change on one page. The plugins seemed to have no effect.

Could I manually fix the container? I’m a Dreamweaver to WordPress transplant, so I understand the html, just new to the file structure of WordPress.

I isolated the problem. I had added a text widget so that I could add the following short code (centered on the page — this is the set of social sharing buttons that you see on the home page)

    [addtoany]

The seems to be properly created, so I don’t know how it’s messing up the footer. And, it’s not happening on any of the internal pages.

sorry… here is the correct code:

    <div style="vertical-align:top;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;width: 250px;">[addtoany]<div>

Ok, final update… I am able to resolve the problem by removing the in the code above and just centering the widget by using a row with 3 columns.
