Home>Support>Fonts not saving in customiser

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi anewdsign

    Apologies for the delay.

If you haven’t resolved the problem, please let us know. When you save a font and return to the Customizer, is your font choice still there? Or when you return, is the font setting defaulting back to the original?

If possible, please also send through a link to your site and let us know which setting you’ve set to which font.

    Hi Andrew
No the problem hasn’t been resolved. I just tried to go in again but when I click on customise I am now getting –
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Is this something to do with it also? (Apologies if this is off the thread but not sure where to start to fix it)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Anewdsign

Sorry to hear about this new hassle. I’m not quite sure what’s causing this error yet. Please run through a few standard trouble-shooting steps to see if it helps:

    1. Run all pending updates at Dashboard > Updates. It’s important WordPress is running a version after 4.0.

    2. Temporarily de-activate all non-SiteOrigin plugins and test.

    3. Make sure there is no SiteOrigin Google Maps widget at Appearance > Widgets > Sidebar or Footer. We’re currently seeing a Customizer bug with that widget. The fix will be released today.

    4. With all non-SiteOrigin plugins de-activated switch over to a default theme like Twenty Fourteen and re-test.

Let us know if you have any joy with the above.

Thanks Andrew for all your help.
Followed your steps and it seems to be working now after deactiviting the plugins, simple lightbox seemed to be the problem The Vantage Premium is a great theme and the fonts are now working – site http://www.sugarartcreations.com.au

    Hi, I Work Here

Awesome, glad we’ve made progress. Thanks for reporting the plugin conflict. If you’re interested, I quite like the combination of Jetpack Tiled Galleries and Jetpack Carousel (for lightboxes).

    http://jetpack.me/support/carousel/

Carousel only works with galleries but you can insert a single image gallery if you’d like.

Lots of other options out there if the above doesn’t work for you.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Anewdsign

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, I Work Here

It unfortunately seems to be a conflict with Shortcodes Ultimate. I’ve temporarily de-activated that plugin. Please test now.

  11. 9 years, 4 months ago anewdsign

Thanks very much Andrew, yes working do you have a suggested alternative for shortcodes ultimate as I have used it throughout the site ?

    Hi, I Work Here

Yeah that is bleak and time consuming I know. What have you used? I think turn it back on for now then send through a list like:

    Accordion
    Tabs

Etc. Tomorrow I’ll do some research and find the best possible alternatives.

    Sorry for the hassle.

  13. 9 years, 4 months ago anewdsign

That would be much appreciated, thanks Andrew.

    Hi, I Work Here

    For accordions you might try:

    Whistles:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/whistles/

    and for tabs:

    Tabby:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/tabby-responsive-tabs/

In the not so distant future the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle will have all of these. Unfortunately not ready just yet.

What else are you missing without Shortcodes Ultimate activated?

  15. 9 years, 4 months ago anewdsign

    Thanks Andrew
I will try both. At the moment I will try and use as much as I can through Page Builder and widgets.
Thanks very much for your help. Look forward to the future widgets bundle.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for your understanding, hopefully those do the trick.

In the near future we hope the Widgets Bundle will handle all common widget cases.

    Chat soon.

    Cheers
