Feedburner, meta error!

Resolved 5 replies premiumthemetheme-vantage

I am trying to burn a feed using feedburner and I receive the following error;

The URL does not appear to reference a valid XML file. We encountered the following problem: Error on line 127: The element type “meta” must be terminated by the matching end-tag “”.

I am using Vantage premium as my theme with Page Builder.

Any Suggestions?

    Hi Bcolburn

    Thanks for reaching out.

    I’m not an expert on feeds but it sounds like there is an error in the feed. If you’d like to confirm nothing in WordPress is causing this you could try switching to a default theme like Twenty Fifteen and de-activate all plugins at once. That would give you a super standard/vanilla setup and should hopefully let you know if there is something wrong with your setup or the feed.

    FeedBurner wont create the feed due to the meta error.

    Hi Bcolburn

    Super, thanks for confirming that.

    Did you perhaps have a chance to run through the troubleshooting steps I outlined above? That would let you know if you’re looking at a theme or plugin related error or perhaps a problem with the WordPress core and Feedburner.

    I ran your feed through the validator here: http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bcolburn.com%2Ffeed. It seems to come back ok.

    Is this the url you are using?

    I wasn’t using /feed.
    That solved the issue.

    Thank You very much.

    Win! Glad that did the trick.

    All the best with your site.
