Featured Image control

7 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 7 years ago

Looking for any input towards using the image piece of the Featured widget. I use thumbnail since my sourced images are of different size so this crops them evenly. It is ok, but I rather have them span the column width and be only so high in size. Say 50x(col-width depending on how many columns).

My only option I think is to crop my own images for each Feature to the size I want depending how many columns I have. If I have 2 columns versus 4 columns, then the images for the 2 col Features would be a wider image so I would not know until I create the Feature. Is this too dumb, assuming that there is a cool tool inside this builder or just the widget to do this?

Full, Large and Medium can go beyond my wanted heights and widths. I thought there would be a sizing of the image to do a full column spread, BUT keeping it at only so many pixels, em, or percent high.

    Hi Alan,

Unfortunately, there’s no direct way to automatically resize the source image to be the exact size of the column on page load so your only option is to set a size you’re happy with that’s larger than your typical column but still large enough for a bigger column, then use CSS to stretch the image to be the full size of the column.

To clarify, what widget are you using to add the image?
