We often have pages that have multiple layout builders on them (sometimes dozens!) On top of that, we use layout builders in widget areas. It can become really difficult to track down which layout builder corresponds to which content.
It’d be SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL if the preview for the Layout Builder included the Widget ID (if it exists) in place of the string “A complete SiteOrigin PageBuilder layout as a widget.”
Hi Charlie,
It’s actually possible to rename row/widget titles. I would recommend giving this article a read for instructions on how to do this.
This is 60% of what I need. However, when I add a Layout Builder widget to the “Widgets” area in WordPress, it is always just called “Layout Builder” on screen. There are sites we manage that have a dozen or so Layout Builders in the widgets area, and it’s annoying to have to click through each one to see a title.
Hi Charlie,
Unfortunately, this isn’t possible without some custom coding. I’ve marked this thread as a feature request. We often look through these threads to get ideas for what to add in our future updates. Hopefully, we’ll be able to add this in a future update.
In the meantime, you could get around this limitation by adding all of the layout builders inside of a single layout builder as that will allow you rename each of the layout builders inside of it.
