Fatal error with Widgets Bundle

I was unable to update Widgets Bundle, and now am unable to activate it. I get this fatal error message:

=============================

I am using the Vantage theme.

Should I try deleting the Widgets Bundle plug-in from the list of installed plug-ins, then re-installing it?

Is there a way to solve this problem without losing the widget content I have previously created using the plug-in?

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Cadler,

Unfortunately, you’ve experienced a WordPress update issue. While WordPress was updating the SIteOrigin Widgets Bundle something went wrong and that resulted in the update not completing. Typically, WordPress isn’t able to roll back to the previous plugin files so you’ll have an incomplete version of that plugin.

Is there a way to solve this problem without losing the widget content I have previously created using the plug-in?

Reinstalling SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle is perfectly safe and won’t result in any data loss.

If you’re given the option to, yes, please deactivate and then delete the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. Click Add New and search for and install the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.

If you aren’t given the option (as in, the plugin is missing) or the reinstall failed, you’ll need to manually remove the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin files. To do this, you’ll need to use FTP so if you’re unfamiliar with using it, I would reach out to your hosting provider for assistance.

Please connect to your website using FTP and then navigate to your WordPress directory. Go to wp-content/plugins and delete the so-widgets-bundle directory.

Open your website again and navigate to WP AdminPluginsAdd New. Search for and install the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.

    Alex,
Thank you very much for the prompt response to my question.
I deleted and then reinstalled the Widgets Bundle as you recommended, and everything is now back to normal.
Although you had assured me that there would be no data loss, I was a bit nervous, as a pop-up said I would be deleting the plug-in and its data…but you were right, and I did not lose any data.
    Thanks again!

    Hi Cadler,

    Great to hear! :)
I’m not too sure added the pop up but it’s safe to ignore for our plugins. We intentionally build our plugins to account for reinstalls as we know there are some very valid reasons for doing one.
