Fatal Error: Page Builder by Siteorigin

I received notice that my wordpress version had updated automatically. I use the “Office” theme by Thinkup Themes. I read many message boards and followed their instructions to install the updated site origin’s page builder 2.5.4.1. The file will install but will not activate. I’ve deleted and installed it several times. I turned off all other plugins; still nothing. It gives the following error when I try to activate it.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare siteorigin_panels_activate() (previously declared in /home1/newheri2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/thinkup-panels/siteorigin-panels.php:44) in /home1/newheri2/public_html/wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/siteorigin-panels.php on line 44

I’ve tried a dozen times.

I’m able to activate the older 2.2.4 that was recommended by Thinkup themes when I installed the theme 3 weeks ago. However, the page builder tab does not activate on most pages and when it does I cannot insert rows or widgets.

Please help. Thank you

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jared,

I would recommend contacting Think up Themes about this issue as they, based on the error message, seem to be running a fork (basically, it’s based on our codebase – which we’re 100% okay with) of our plugin. The SiteOrigin Page Builder isn’t actually exact same as the version seen on this page. So unless you intend to switch plugin I would recommend sticking with their builder unless they are no longer supporting it. If that’s the case, remove their Page builder.

If you would like to switch to ours, remove theirs and it’ll resolve the issue.

Thanks Alex. I did and I also returned to their site and found a message to solve the issue.
