Hi, I am unable to access the Manage Widget Bundle page (so cannot use any of the additional widgets!) It appears to be a clash between plugins, as I get an eror whenever I try to click on the “Manage” part of the plugin and I get an error message saying an email has been sent to me.
This is the error message in the email:
Error Details
=============
An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 180 of the file /customers/7/d/8/bkfire.uk/httpd.www/wp-content/plugins/addon-so-widgets-bundle/extra-widgets/faqs/faqs.php. Error message: Cannot redeclare faq() (previously declared in /customers/7/d/8/bkfire.uk/httpd.www/wp-content/plugins/google-seo-author-snippets/support-form.php:45)
Hi Shrimpette
Good to hear from you, thanks for reaching out.
This is preventable. Both authors, https://wordpress.org/plugins/addon-so-widgets-bundle/ and https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-seo-author-snippets/ should be adding prefixing their functions for this exact reason. Due to the mistake by both authors, these two plugins can’t be used together. If you still have access to the Plugins interface in your WordPress admin, you can delete either plugin there. If you’d like to take this up with one of both authors, you can just let them know that the faq function in their plugin isn’t namespaced and is causing an error.
Hi Andrew
Thank you so much for your speedy response! I have deleted the SEO Snippets plugin and am now able to use the Widget Bundle again (phew, some of my site was built with it so that is good!) I am going to mark this one resolved (if I can work out how to get back to that page!)
Thank you
Shrimpette
Super, I’m glad to hear you’re making progress. Thanks for the update :)
