Fatal Error

By Shelly, 9 years ago. Last reply by Greg Priday, 9 years ago.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare origin_widgets_init …
With the latest version of the theme update my site has received this fatal error.
As I am not tech suave I am not really sure what this telling me.
Do I need to un-install the entire theme and start again? Or is it a widget issue?
Thanks for your help.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Shelly

There have been some big changes that will unfortunately require a little work to resolve.

This error shouldn’t have prevented you from logging in but it looks like that has happened. Sorry for the hassle.

Please login via FTP and de-activate plugins: http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/. Once you have access please login and delete the SiteOrigin Legacy Widgets plugin. Those widgets will need to be re-built using widgets from the new Widget Bundle plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/.

If, after deleting the Legacy Widgets plugin you’re still seeing an error, please try deleting and re-installing Page Builder. No content will be lost in this process.

      Hi, I Work Here

Sorry about this issue. It comes up with a particular combination of older versions of our plugins combining with new versions of other plugins. To fix, login with FTP and navigate to wp-content/plugins and delete the folder so-widgets-bundle. Alternatively ask your web hosts to do this for you. Next, update all your plugins and reinstall the widgets bundle plugin. If you need more help please start your own thread.
