Fa icons not visible on iphone (except on search page)

6 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 6 years ago

There is no problem in Chrome, but in Firefox, Edge and on the iPhone the icons appear either as little squares or not at all. Not only font-awesome but other icons (Genericons, etc) do not work either.

Clearing the cache brought no improvement and my child theme is not overriding anything.

Font-awesome icons that I enter by hand appear as they should but icons in site origin widgets (social, features) do not. Oddly enough, on the search page (and only there) the icons in the footer and sidebar do appear on the iPhone as well as in Firefox and Edge!

I’d appreciate any advice you can give me on how to fix this.

Thanks
Jenny

    Hi Jenny

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Thanks

    Thanks.

Try temporarily deactivating all non-SiteOrigin plugins. If the issue doesn’t resolve, try reaching out to your hosts. You can send them this image https://imgur.com/a/du0znDk along with your URL and an explanation, ask them if they know why those files are being blocked, assuming that’s the issue.

So it turns out the caching plugin was the culprit (WP Fastest Cache).
After I deactivated it, the SO Icons started working everywhere.

Glad to hear you’re making progress. If you’d like to isolate the problem, you could start working through the WP Fastest Cache settings to isolate which part of that plugin is causing the problem.
