Extremely Poor Pagespeed Scores

When I first started using the North theme several years ago, pagespeed was fine. Nowadays I’m getting extremely poor pagespeed scores and I haven’t really change anything. I’ve tested on Google pagespeed insights, Gmetrix and Pingdom and it’s super poor. I’m hoping that I can get to the bottom of this issue before I have to make major changes or moves to my site. Please reply ASAP.

    Thanks for reaching out.

    You can try adding Autoptimize and WP Super Cache to help with your page load time. Careful setup and testing is required of each plugin.

    Thanks Andrew, are there any recommended setting though? I’d expect that should be some best settings to work with the North theme. I’m sure I’m not the first one who has come across this issue.

    Hi, thanks for your reply. There isn’t anything specific in North that needs special attention from Autoptimize and or WP Super Cache. I’m, unfortunately, not sure why your scores changed over time, it’s unlikely those changes are as a result of changes to North. General performance improvements as recommended above would be a good place to start.
