Extra Padding / White Space beyond 100% Browser Width

Hey There,

I typically use Site Origin in conjunction with the http://underscores.me/ starter theme to make custom sites for my clients.

I’ve noticed on multiple sites now where there should be no horizontal scrolling, extra padding / margin is adding whitespace to the right of the page that extends beyond 100% of the browser width.

I usually can fix it with CSS overrides, but the culprit always seems to be a Page Builder row or element of some sort, sometimes multiple elements are bleeding over the 100% edge.

I thought I saw other people mention they had similar issues, but I couldn’t find a fix yet in the forums. Is this a bug / known issue? Is there a way to override this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

-Ron

Here is the white space I’m talking about:

Here’s an example where the margin on the full-width page builder row is highlighted:

    Update:
    I came up with an easy top-level workaround for fixing this in my sites that are only intended to scroll vertically (which is most of them):

    html {
      overflow-x: hidden;
    }

    This is easier than what I was doing before, which was finding the individual elements that were causing this issue and attempting to resize them or eliminate padding / margins with CSS.

    I still think this is a potential bug with the Site Origin Page Builder plugin unless there is something I’m missing.

    The Carousel widget, for instance, is something I’ve experienced this issue a lot with as the width is set to something like 9999px by default.

    Hi Ron

    Thanks for reaching out. Sorry we weren’t able to reply sooner.

    I don’t have a global solution at the moment. Do you have a site live that we could check out? We could disable the CSS html rule you mentioned above and then perhaps see the issue live. That would be the best way for us to get to the bottom of the issue.
