Expand and collapse text

Hi Does anyone know a plug in that can expand and collapse text on a page? I tried using collapse-o-matic, but it doesn’t seem to work as it should. The down arrow seems to be static and wont hide the text. The code I’m using is:

[Code]
[expand title=”Read More”] Hello World [/expand]
[Code]

I’m putting this in the text exactly as the plug in instructions tell me to do it.
Can anyone explain how the plug in is supposed to work?

Thank you

    Hi, I Work Here

Hi. You could try: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-showhide/. Under General Usage he covers a few examples:
https://github.com/lesterchan/wp-showhide, also see this page here: https://lesterchan.net/wordpress/2011/04/28/wp-showhide-1-00/.

For splitting posts on your blog page it’s best to use the more tag, here are the details on using that tag to split content:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

Let me know how that goes.

The More Tag doesn’t seem to work though. I can add it to the text in the visual editor, but nothing shows up on the page. Is there a reason why?

HI Andrew. I seem to be having a problem with the WP show hide. if I have two show hides in one page, the second show hide still seems to be linked to the first one.

    take a look:

do you have any idea how to fix this? thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Felipe

You’ll need to change the type for each show/hide on a page. For example:

    [showhide type="trak"]
    Text for Trak goes here.
    [/showhide]

    [showhide type="ikelos"]
    Text for Ikelos goes here.
    [/showhide]

    Hope that helps.

Are you referring to the traditional more tag?
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

If so, that’s not applicable on a single post. You add the more tag to a post, then on your blog page the content will be split with a “Continue Reading” button. Perhaps check out the above link for examples on that.
