Hello,
Since I installed Premium version, I am no more able to do customization. I get the following message in Appearance -> Customize :
Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Customize_Manager::add_panel() in /home/maieutik/public_html/wp-content/themes/vantage/premium/extras/customizer/customizer.php on line 405
Can you please advise ?
thanks
Olivier
Hi Olivier Christol
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
Thanks
Magus
Hello Magus
Do you know if I will all the plugin configuration by disabling and re-enabling the plugins?
Tia
Hi Olivier Christol
Disabling and re-enabling the plugins will not affect the configuration with the exception of Jetpack. If you are using Jetpack you will need to re-register the connection to your wp account.
Magus
Hello Magus,
I disabled all of them except Jetpack.
I got no change, still have the issue.
What is next step?
Tia
Hi magus,
I upgraded my WP version from 3;9 to 4.2. it works better but still have an issue. I can’t see the right part of the page …never finish as you can see below …
Hi Olivier
Please try using your browser console to check for JavaScript errors. This should be done when viewing the Customizer at Appearance > Customize.
Here is how: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors#Step_3:_Diagnosis.
Thanks
Hi Andrew
Here it is
Please let me know if it matches with your expection
We unfortunately don’t yet support email attachments on the forum. Are you perhaps able to paste the errors on the forum?
here it is
[Error] TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating 'safari.application.addEventListener')
global code (main.js, line 1)
Thanks. This error usually relates to an old version of WordPress.
Have you tested the Customizer with all plugins OFF after you upgraded to 4.2? If not, please, try that test again.
Thanks
Andrew,
Following your advice, I found the Guilty plugin : WordPress Gzip Compression
Do you know something equivalent and compliant with Vantage Premium and WP 4.2?
TIA
Nice!
WP Super Cache is the big plugin in the performance area. I think it has Gzip.
I quite like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/. Description says it has Gzip. It’s a much much simpler plugin than WP Super Cache. Perhaps give it a try. I think it gets most things done nicely.
