I am using the default twenty seventeen theme. WP version 4.8. My entire site went down a few hours ago, and I found that (by activating plug-ins one by one) one or both of these two plugins caused the problem.

Anyone found a way around this issue? Update coming soon? If not I’ll just have to make a few changes to not use these very useful plugins.

Hi Matt,
This issue is as a result of the recent MaxButtons update, 19.06.17. You can find a thread on it here. The developer has recommended reverting back to Max Button 6.19 until this issue is resolved. You can do that by navigating to WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins and find MaxButtons and then deactivate and delete it. Click Add NewUpload Plugin and upload/activate this file.
Thanks for the quick response! That makes a lot more sense than Site Origins not playing well with a default theme.
Your fix worked like a charm, and everything is back exactly as I built it. Will that installed plugin no longer update? Should I keep an eye out for a new Max Button update and then update to the new one?

MaxButtons has rolled back the current version back to 6.19 so when you see an update notification it’ll be safe to update.
