Hi Steve,
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.
This looks like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
I have been able to replicate the bug on a different site.
Create a new visual editor module.
Switch to text mode
Paste a youtube iframe embed
Save the page
Go back to edit the page, edit the module
Then it will not work.
Maybe the module tries to load the iframe in visual mode?
Hi Steve,
Could you please clarify what the visual editor module is? Are you referring to the SiteOrigin Editor widget?
The Visual editor will try and run whatever is in the text tab.
Just to confirm; are you using either a Theme Trust or a Think Up Themes theme?
I believe I confused myself between modules that are part of your editor and not.
I just realized that the Visual editor is part of Black Studio TinyMCE Widget… so I guess the problem is from that.
I am using the Bowl-WP theme.

Hi Steve,
Okay, that explains why I wasn’t able to replicate this issue following the steps provided.
Just to clear something up – does this only happen in that theme, or does it also occur in any of the default WordPress themes?
It happens no matter the theme.
The content actually gets posted on the page, it’s just I can’t edit the module afterwards.
I just noticed this thread:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/official-topic-for-compatibility-issues-with-page-builder-by-siteorigin?replies=20
I guess I will try some of the suggestions listed there.
Hm I get the same problem using the SiteOrigin Editor… so I guess something else on my 2 sites is interfering…
Hi Steve,
This might sound odd but could you please install the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and try and replicate the issue with the SiteOrigin Editor widget? I 100% rule out this issue for our editor as it’s possible I didn’t replicate it exactly as you’re doing.
Just found out that Wordfence is the culprit.
I will mess around with its options and see what’s causing this.
Thanks for the quick support and sorry for taking up your time.
