I’m encountering the issue when my page edits don’t save when I ‘update’ and view page. ()It only happens when trying to lay out the page using Page Builder, text and visual edits do generally save but I really want to include widgets so this is limiting)
I have seen threads with other people trying to troubleshoot the same issue and tried a number of options-
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? re-activating the plugins one by one to find the problematic plugin(s)
– reset the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin
– repaired databases in phpMyAdmin
I’m relatively new to WP an have purposefully undertaken the task to learn as I go. I’d really value some advice with this issue. It’s really holding me back in developing the appearance and functionality of my site — although I’ve learned lots in the process of trying to fix this.
Hi Originalprojects,
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

Ok I have disabled the Black Studio TinyMCE Widget plugin and I cant note any changes… I’ve also deactivated them all as it has said in other threads but nothing.
I am desperate to get this page looking good with clear information for our audience so I even tried to make it from scratch and am still unable to save changes with page builder… in fact now (for that new page) when I tried to update my edits and widgets it reverts to editor mode when I reopen in page builder I get the “”Would you like to copy this editor’s existing content to Page Builder?” and all the widgets that I have added are lost and all i’m left with is a single SiteOrigin Editor box with only some text reaming. I never had this before on my other pages where I’ve used the Page builder, the function has always managed to stay in that mode unless I ask it otherwise and not reverted to editor mode.
Regardless, I’m still having issues saving. I changed the first line as you suggested and managed to save something but as i’m still trying to make changes (add new widgets, buttons and text) now I’m back where I was unable to make further changes… I’ve even spent time deisgning the layout in siteorigin Layout Builder to see if I can get that to work but when update it reverts to the previously saved version and all my changes lost again…
I use a Mac is this an issue?
I really want to be able to use page builder for functionality.. I hope there is a solution. I’ve spent days on this and still can’t fathom what’s up.
Hi Originalprojects,
I just tried and wasn’t able to replicate the issue with a brand new page. Hm. Could you maybe try a different browser / computer? it’s possible it’s a browser extension or software that’s interfering. Ideally, a recently installed browser is ideal – no major setting adjustments or anything like that.
Obviously, I ran into the same issue but that was with the problematic line that I pointed out in my previous reply.
