Having constructed a page using widgets, I needed to edit some text in Site origin Editor.
It will show and save the changes in Preview Changes. However it will not show any of the changes on the website. It is also not showing that any revisions have been performed.

This problem sounds like it might be a caching issue. The first thing to check is server-side caching through plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, etc. If you have any of these caching/performance plugins installed, try clearing their cache and see if that helps.
Does this only happen on a single page or on multiple pages? What sort of change did you make to the editor?
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.
