“Edit” in Page Builder added widget

Hello,

I just started using SiteOrigin’s page builder and noticed that on adding widgets to a post or page, I am unable to edit it. When I click edit, it opens a large window as if to let me select options but nothing shows. I have tried over and over but all I see is a rolling circle that keeps rolling forever.
Also, most times, I see connection lost and I’m unable to click publish (that is, save my progress). I do not understand any of these observations.

Kindly help, anyone…

Please note: I use a local xampp server for my wordpress.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Phemsy,

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Thanks Alex for your response. The thing is, it’s a fresh WordPress 4.5 install and I have only 3 “unrelated” plugins installed. Just 2 of them are active: “wordpress importer” and “siteorigin panels”.
Maybe I should retry with a lower wordpress version.

    Hi Phemsy,

That’s odd. SiteOrigin Page Builder is 100% compatible with WordPress 4.5. Could you please try editing a widget again and then sending me the contents of your browser console? Please follow this guide on how to access your browser console.
