Edit font, color or size does not appear in Siteorigin Editor widget

The SiteOrigin Editor widget toolbar does not display icon tools to edit fonts, font color or font size.

I tried several things:
– Plugin conflict test did not correct the problem.
– Delete and reinstall of SiteOrigin Page Builder and SiteOrigin widgets did not correct the problem.
– Installation of TinyMCE Advanced and reset default settings did not correct the problem.
– Clear cache did not correct the problem.

I can work around this with CSS, but the site owner cannot. She needs the editor to be fully functioning.

    Hi Evollo,

The SiteOrigin Editor widget is the standard WordPress editor in widget form. The standard editor doesn’t include Font or Font Sizing options so you’ll need to use a plugin like TinyMCE Advanced to add those buttons.

Have you added the Font Size, color and Font Family buttons to your toolbars? If you haven’t, please navigate to WP AdminSettingsTinyMCE Advanced and add them.

If you have (or adding them doesn’t result in them showing up), are you only seeing the first toolbar? If so you’ll need to toggle the other toolbars to be able to use the buttons on those rows. Please navigate to WP AdminSettingsTinyMCE Advanced and add the Toggle Button to the first toolbar, then save. Open the SiteOrigin Editor widget and click the Toggle Toolbar button. Do the other rows appear without issue now?

For reference, this is what the Toggle Toolbar button looks like:

Our website has two MCE editor plugins installed: 1) Black Studio TinyMCEand 2) SiteOrigin Editor. TinyMCE Advanced works as expected in both. But do I need both? The site was originally built using the Back Studio TinyMCE (Visual Editor) widget. The SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle, including the SiteOrigin Editor, was a later addition. For compatibility reasons, my inclination is use only the SiteOrigin Editor moving forward. Does it matter?

I see no easy way to move content from the Visual Editor (Black Studio) widgets into the SiteOrigin Editor, so I cannot deactivate the Black Studio editor.

    Hi Evollo,

Due to the popularity of that Black Studio TinyMCE, we would ensure compatibility was maintained so unless you want to change or you want one less plugin installed, there’s no real requirement to change. With that said, I would personally use the SiteOrigin Editor widget as the Automatically Add Paragraph setting is a large advantage. Does that make sense?

You would need to manually replace the Visual Editor widgets with a SiteOrigin Editor widget as there’s no way to automatically convert the Visual Editor widget to a SiteOrigin Editor widget.
