Hello,
I have built a draft page with multiple rows and columns. It looks great in the Live Editor but once I save a draft and go to preview the page the new content is not showing up on the preview page. It has content from a very early revision.
I have a second page built that is published that seems to work properly (meaning when I change the content it shows up on the preview page).
I am using Theme Alley
url: sreal.ucf.edu
published page is https://sreal.ucf.edu/support/
I have followed your recommendation below (which fixed a lot of the issues I was having):
Page Builder Setting – This setting will effect all widgets so you may need up with less spacing around widgets please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPage Builder and open the Widgets tab. Untick Add Widget class.
Is there a way I can get the preview page to refresh the content on an unpublished/draft page?
I have tried clearing my browser cache and have the same issue in multiple browsers.
I don’t have a caching plugin on my site.
I have also tried deactivating all unrelated plugins.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Barbara
Hi Barbara,
So to clarify, these are the steps you’re taking to preview this page:
Make changes via live editor
Click Done
Click preview
Correct? If so, that should work. Hm. What happens if you click preview again or save the page? Does it display correctly?
Alex thank you for your comments.
Yes, you are correct: the procedure you noted is the way I went about building my page. It doesn’t work. I also saved the draft page and then clicked preview and that doesn’t work either.
I have tried everything I can do, short of publishing the page, to try to have it update the preview page.
Any other suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Barbara
Hi Barbara,
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

I don’t know what you mean by Private Snippet as the email address. I have used the above email address. Please let me know if I need to do something different.
All set.

Sent new pw to email. Let me know. Thanks.
Hi BLee,
Unfortunately, we haven’t received an email yet. :(
Are you able to send other emails via your website?
I have had problems having the website send out emails in the past. I tried to send the password directly from my email. I’m guessing that you didn’t receive that either. I will try to see if I can figure out the email thing. Please don’t give up on me.
Hi BLee,
I didn’t. :(
Just to confirm, what email are you using?
To clarify, you’ll receive notification of when we receive the email.

I’m going to generate a new password and email it myself directly to [email protected], I will be using the email I set this account up with.
Ok.
Hi BLee,
Okay so I was able to get in thanks to your direct email. :)
Okay so I’ve tried to replicate this issue and I can’t seem to be able to. For your reference, I recorded myself testing the preview functionality so this should allow you to see if there’s something I’m doing wrong (to replicate the issue) or differently (to work around it).

Wow, it worked great for you. So I’m wondering why it works so differently for me, I am doing exactly the same steps as you showed in the video. What kinds of things should I look for next?
I only seem to have the issue on the draft page. For me the preview page will update one time per day then seems to get stuck in that revision. I don’t know where to go from here. I could just publish the page since the published page does not have the same issue, but I’d really like to have it work for me the way it does for you.
Thanks so much for checking it out.
Hi BLee,
Maybe try my account – there may be something different between the two.
If that doesn’t help, try a different browser and/or computer.
Will do. Again, thanks for the help. At least, I know it is not some kind of incompatibility between my theme and the plugin. I’m so sorry for wasting your time. Have a great day.
Well, I tried editing in your profile and mine. Your profile works and mine does not. Not sure how to fix that, perhaps easiest is to set up a new profile for myself.
Hi BLee,
Try logging into your account and navigating to WP AdminUserYour Profile. Is the Visual Editor disabled? (disabled means that the setting is ticked) If so, please untick the Visual Editor setting. Do previews work for you now?
I looked at my profile as recommended, the “Visual Editor disabled?” is not checked. I also logged in as one of the other admin users on the site. That user can edit the page and preview the changes without difficulty. They can even see the changes that I make in my profile when they preview the page once I have saved the changes.
It is really weird. There are not that many options in the user profile and I have compared all three profiles and they all seem to be set up the same. At this point I am going to just set up another profile for myself and move on. Somehow, my profile must have some kind of flaw.
Thanks again for the help. You have been really helpful and I appreciate the time you have taken to troubleshoot this issue. I don’t think I would have figured it out without you.
I will leave this profile and if you think of anything else you think I should try let me know.
Have a great day,
