Display issue with Go Portfolio Plugin

Hi Team, i’m using your plugin with my theme CARGOPRESS. Since your last update, i have a display issue on this and only page : => LINK

The footer disapeared sometimes, and i don’t know why !?

Could you inspect the code and check the conflict ? It’s very strange.

The GO PORTFOLIO DEVS told me :

One the test page I originally didn’t use the builder and worked fine.
Then I added the builder and added the shortcode into a editor box and the result is the same. I think the builder has some limitation, maybe the generated content lenght causes some problem.
I suggest you to contact to the author of the builder, maybe they know about the problem or faced similar issue.

The problem, is that it seems that the builder cuts off the generated shortcode content after a certain length, but as you said this behaviour seems a bit inconsistent. Sometimes it cuts off, but in the most cases it does.

You can see bug in the files attached.

What do you think about that ?

thanks in advance

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Boris,

Could you please send me a copy of the attached files? Please note that we do not support email attachments at this time so you’ll need to upload them to a third party site such as vgy.me or upload.teknik.io.

Regardless, there’re no limits to the length of content you’re allowed to have in SiteOrigin Page Builder. Oddly, this issue seems to be related to an incorrectly closed div. The last item added by this portfolio shortcode doesn’t seem to be closing correctly and, as a result of the item itself being hidden, the footer isn’t shown. Is there any reason, besides a content length limit (which, as stated, there isn’t one), why the item may not be closing (or rather not closing) incorrectly?

To clarify, in the last update the following changes were made:

Added fixed background support. (< related to row background images)
Cycle addon and contribution link. (< related to sliders)
Small type and translation fixes. (< self-explanatory)

As a result, there’s no real reason why this update would have caused this issue. So I’m quite confused why this is happening.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Boris,

Ah. I didn’t see that. Thank you for the image.

To confirm, this is the plugin, correct?

Also, would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Hi Alex,

I received an answer of the GO PORTFOLIO PLUGIN, maybe it can help ?

I did further testing and it fully works on my site inside the bulder.
Then it seems the problem comes somewhere from your site. There is a limitation, maybe maximum script execution time or so, the memory is I checked it last time.

I tried to modify the plugin using plugin editor, but it seems I made some mistake now I cannot access the admin area. Maybe you should delete the “go_portfolio” plugin folder using FTP. After this you can reinstall it using the admin area.

One thing is important don’t uninstall the plugin in the admin area if you can login somehow, as it deletes the portfolios. (not the posts, but it’s data settings) If you delete it using FTP there wont be such issue.
Very sorry about this, editing the plugin is far from idel using WP admin, but I had no other chance now, as this bug is very annoying for you and me too.

Please keep me updated I would like to help you solve this issue.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Boris,

    Sorry for the delay.

That… that actually makes perfect sense and I have no idea why I didn’t think of suggesting that – it explains exactly why the output is stopped abruptly. If you haven’t tried increasing it yet, please refer to this article on how to increase the memory limit and this article on how to increase the maximum execution time. The former being more likely in this instance. Please try one and then the other – both will require editing wp-config.php.
