desktop vs mobile site origin layout widget

I’m using the layout widget to form my pages. Everything is working great however when I have two text widgets side by side they look great on desktop but the text aligns vertically on mobile devices. How do I correct this so text shows up side by side? Thanks for any help you can provide.
