Demo content gone after upgrade to Vantage Premium

Hi,

I installed the Vantage free theme and page builder. This looked great with the demo content loaded and working (e.g. Front page slider etc).

I then purchased the Vantage Premium package at $50 and upgraded the theme. I also installed the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.

When I then went to view the site, all the demo content & setup had vanished.

Is this how it should be?
Is the assumption that a premium setup is a blank canvas?
Is there a way to have the demo setup back ?

Thanks

Steve

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Steve

    Thanks for your support.

If you head over to Appearance > Home Page and toggle the top switch to ON the default home page should appear. You can also re-do that layout by clicking the Prebuilt button > Theme Defined (left menu) > Default Home.

    Hi Andrew,

thanks for the quick reply. I’m a newbie with the Vantage Theme so at the start of the learning curve!

I followed your instructions and a partial/minimal Demo Home Page is now appearing but is missing quite a few items. Please see

    Hi, I Work Here

    Looking good.

Next, try installing Meta Slider plugin from Plugins > Add New: search for Meta Slider. Here is our guide on that:

The blank image in the bottom carousel will populate once the post in question has a featured image added:

Thanks Andrew. Got that all sorted. I’ll start building the site how I want it now.

It seems a little strange that if you install the free version of the Vantage Theme that it the demo setup is fully built but the premium upgrade doesn’t have it – its a little confusing so it would be better if they were both the same. I’ve used other themes which provide an xml file to load the demo setup so that would be the optimim solution.

Anyway, it certainly seems like a great theme and I’m looking forward to using it

    Hi, I Work Here

Really glad to hear you made progress.

Demo content dropping between free and premium definitely isn’t normal. It’s not something we’ve come across before. Apologies for the hassle. I’m not sure why it happened, but since it was a once off step to recover I just focussed on those steps.

Vantage, unfortunately, doesn’t have a full set of demo data. It’s lacking. Thanks for your feedback.

You’ll hopefully enjoy using Page Builder with Vantage. Page Builder is theme independent so the skills aren’t wasted. Within any Page Builder page you can click Prebuilt and view our new Layouts Directory on the right. It’s very small right now but we hope to grow that as a resource in the coming weeks.

Thanks for your support and feedback.

All the best with your site.
