Customizing Site Title/Tag and Header Font a Nogo :(

I have cleared the cache…
Refreshed the browser…
Updated to most recent Vantage premium as per reading other threads….
Deactivated plugins….
Checked my phone for site issues….
Logged out and back into the site.

Unresolved:
1. There is a shadow box remaining around two page banners. As if the banner image is not big enough to fill the space. I have confirmed the image size is correct and it is showing across the site in all other areas just fine. – I confirmed that I do not have the rounding/shadow option selected. And utilized a thread suggestion of custom css, unsure if this actually fits my need, but it did not resolve my issue.

/* Colorbox Plugin */

button#cboxPrevious,
button#cboxNext {
box-shadow: none;
}

2. The update or the custom CSS kicked in and I now have the size font for readability. Good, however, the Customize horizontal dropdown menus seem “dead” in the venues of selecting FONTS and my SITE Title and Tagline area. No changes that are being made are showing. When I first set my “test” info there, I got a preview page and the fonts changed in preview screen so I could visually see their impact. Now the screen is white during the menu presentation. And no changes are seen even after saved and published.

3. Is there a custom CSS I may add, that I would not lose to increase the PAGE menu font that appears in the horizontal bar 9and subsequent drop downs) – in preparation for possible future vantage premium theme updates?

Thanks ever so kindly. (ps great to hear about the upcoming private url application)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi there,

    For issue #1, would you mind providing a link to your site so that I can check this out? It will help me understand what you are explaining better.

    For issue #2 and #3 is it possible for you to start a new thread per question? This helps us ensure we keep track of each issue individually and ensure all your queries have been looked at as required.

    Looking forward to hear from you.

    Thank you for your and understanding.

    apologies for listing three items, I did not want to be seen as “clogging up” the forum…that is why i did not post independently.
    I can send a private url.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi @Addo, welcome to the team.

    Hi @oldasdirtuser

    1. The Custom CSS provided for that user won’t be applicable to you I don’t think.

    Please email a link for your site through to: [email protected]

    The message will then appear here on the forum, but only you and our team will be able to see it.

    Thanks :)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for the info.

    The images are wrapped in code tags. Please edit those pages, click on the Text tab and carefully remove the following:

    <code></code>

    They won’t be right next to each other. Remove both in each case.

    There is a global setting for default font size in the content area. That’s found under Appearance > Customize > Fonts > Content Size, that would be the best place to set 17/18px.

    ♫ Grand !
    It completely removed the lines – superb.

    Case for this issue, happily closed.
    Appreciate your aid Andrew and Addo !

    (still working on getting the Appearance>Customize ~~~~anything~~~to be responsive.)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Glad that helped.

    Perhaps you can explain further there. Not quite with you. Is Appearance > Customize not saving?

  10. 9 years, 7 months ago oldasdirtuser

    the wp admin customize php is completely un responsive….in so much as i can scroll and enter and change anything. but no changes or selections are saved at all (ie if they are saved – they are not propagating).

    when i had the free vantage, i could use this customize admin area and watch the changes of fonts and sizes happen right on the screen in real time. now,, in the paid version i have a white screen.

    Hi, I Work Here

    We unfortunately ran into a bug with the Customizer in 2.3. Have you upgraded to 2.3.1 from Dashboard > Updates?

  12. 9 years, 7 months ago oldasdirtuser

    let me confirm that Andrew….

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks. You’d need to go to Appearance > Themes, hover over the Vantage image, click Theme Details and check version number there.

  15. 9 years, 7 months ago oldasdirtuser

    2.3.1
    i see some other tabs under there
    Customize Widgets Menus Custom CSS Theme Settings Home Page
    i’ll see if changes work from there…..

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks for checking. The Customizer should be saving fine in 2.3.1. If it’s definitely not saving any values please check:

    1. Are you perhaps running a caching plugin? If so, please clear it.
    2. You could also try testing the Customizer with all non-SiteOrigin plugins temporarily de-activated at once.

  17. 9 years, 7 months ago oldasdirtuser

    ok all buttons above “take” where i press to go.
    all will take info and implement it ….
    except for the “customizer:/customize button.
    it takes me to the vertical drop down selections (where i need to be…but still no ability to change info there)

  18. 9 years, 7 months ago oldasdirtuser

    all at once deactivated? ok that i will do as i have tried one at a time ….

  19. 9 years, 7 months ago oldasdirtuser

    it took a while for them to deactivate i dont have but a few….
    i had no idea you could deactivate all at once.

    success!

    ok so when i get it back to how i want it visually, should i just reactivate everything> or go one at a time and ck for culprit?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Super, thanks for the effort here.

    Ideally, re-activate your plugins one by one, after each activation, re-check the problem in the Customizer. Once you find the problem plugin you could then look for an alternative plugin, something that does the same job.
