Customize the Jetpack Featured Content Slider in the Unwind theme

Hi there,
I’m loving the Unwind theme but I’m having issues making small changes to the Jetpack Featured Content Slider.
The images, as seen on the slider on the home page – appear slightly darker than they actually are, until you actually click on the them and then you can see each image as it is supposed to look in its post/page. Can you tell me what I need to do in the CSS editor to have the images appear in there original brightness on the home page, and not slightly darkened?
Also, I would like to remove the text ‘Continue Reading’ and the box that surrounds it – can you help?

    Hi Nicholas,

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at your setup? I ask because we don’t apply any sort of darkening effect to the featured image so I’m not too sure why the image would appear like this.

    Regarding the Continue Reading box, please navigate to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsBlog and untick Post excerpt read more link. How does that look?
