Customize Masthead Background Image Not Working

I have 3 different sites running the premium vantage theme. Two of them will allow me to add a background to the masthead while another will not. I’m using the same image on all the sites. When I select an image the screen flashes and there’s no update or display of the image. Saving will have no affect either. I can change the color without any problems, but can’t get a background image to work. I’ve tried starting the website over from scratch 3 times now thinking something may have installed incorrectly, but the problem is still happening. What can I do to fix this?

    Hi Mike

    Are all 3 sites hosted on the same server? There is a chance this difference is server related. Perhaps something related to file permissions. Are all 3 sites using the same set of plugins, or does the site that’s having issues use some different plugins?

    Hopefully with a little more troubleshooting we’ll be able to get to the bottom of this – it sounds like a very strange issue.

    Hi Greg,

    No. This particular site with the problem is hosted on BlueHost while the other two are on Godaddy. All of the sites have similar plugins, but this BlueHost site with the problem is virtually brand new. I’m attempting to make the masthead change prior to adding any plug-ins. I’m assuming it must be a file permissions thing then. Where do you think I should look for that?

    Hi Mike

    Can you please head to Appearance > Themes, hover over Vantage and click Theme Details. Vantage 2.3 unfortunately has a bug in the Customizer that would cause pretty much the issues you’ve highlighted. If you are running 2.3 we apologise for the hassle. We’ve resolved the problem and will update in the next 24hrs.

    I checked and I am running 2.3 it looks like. I’m glad this should be an easy fix. I’ll be looking out for the update. Thanks.

    Thanks for your understanding here. Please head to Appearance > Theme Settings > Premium and check that your order number is inserted there. If it isn’t then please insert it there. You should then see an update pending under Dashboard > Updates, please run the update and let us know how it all goes.
