Hi
I would like to use my own set of images for the social icons. I read that this is now possible. I read on another thread that this is now possible using the Social Links widget which is part of the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.
I’ve got https://wordpress.org/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/
I then went to Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets in your WordPress admin and activated the social links widget.
Then went to Appearance > Theme Options > Widgets> and selected Theme icon colour. I kind of expected the background of the social icons to change but they didn’t. I also couldn’t see where to upload my own images. I’ve tried quite a few other plugins for doing this and not found one yet that works for me. can you give advice?
thanks
Elise
Hi Elise
Our updated widget is the SiteOrigin Social Media Buttons widget. Options at Appearance > Customize > Theme Design or Appearance > Theme Settings don’t have any impact on this widget. All settings are within the widget. Unfortunately, it isn’t yet possible to upload your own icons.
Perhaps, try the SiteOrigin Features widget. That has the option to upload your own icon and could be used for this purpose.
Thank you, I’ve inserted it and it works well. However the letters within the icon are very small. I’ve made the padding low and the icon large & you’ll see ‘Youtube’ is very unreadable. I think you need an option of making the padding even less so that the letters fill the background more. I saw someone else request this too.
For sure :)
Have you tried increasing the Icon Size, it’s a setting in the Features widget.
