Custom widgets with Page Builder

Hi there, I’m having the same problem as “fsm_office” with my clients’ website: http://www.earthstompers.com/. I created pages using the Page Builder but using widgets that come with my theme (AccessPress). It used to work fine but suddenly now when I try and edit a page it doesn’t open automatically in page builder but rather with a whole bunch of code that doesn’t make sense – and as Florian mentioned in this thread: https://siteorigin.com/thread/custom-widgets-with-custom-capability-user-role-editor-not-saved/, “if you switch back from to the WordPress-Editor (revert to editor) you see the SO-Shortcodes but without content.” Any idea what could suddenly be causing this? I have tried deactivating and reactivating plugins one by one but that didn’t work.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi,

I’m not too sure why this is happening. Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi,

Cloudflare’s Rocket Loader is causing issues for certain people and that appears to be what’s going on here. Please exclude WP Admin from Cloudflare. The linked article title isn’t directly related to this error, but the provided instructions in the article will tell you how to disable Cloudflare in the WP Admin directory.

I’m sorry – I don’t understand, I don’t have Cloudfare or Rocket Loader installed on this site? Where are you seeing this?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi,

You can verify that Rocket Loader is present by opening your website and viewing the page source. Rocket Loader will be at the very end of the page:

Oh I see, but I can’t set up page rules as you suggested as I don’t have the app or any plugin with page rules options. Are you sure this is what is causing the issue? Can you see the issue I see when you click on a page and the page builder doesn’t load?

Thanks for your help – it seems the hosting company set up Cloudfare and that was the issue after all, as soon as I disabled it using page rules the page builder worked as intended.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi,

Huh. That’s an interesting situation – I didn’t know hosting providers did that. I would recommend reporting this issue to them as they may look into introducing a method of optionally disabling Rocket Loader. There’s no harm in using the standard Cloudflare functionality, it’s just Rocket Loader that can sometimes cause you issues in WP Admin (and sometimes elsewhere).

Ok I will definitely do that, thanks again for your help! :)
