Hi there siteorigin folks,
I’ve been using Siteorigin quite a while and every time I create Custom Widgets sooner or later I stumlbe upon this problem:
I create a Widget, mostly by copying and replacing strings in existing widget files. I activate the widget in the SiteOrigin Widgets panel. Most of the times it works as expected, but sometimes I miss replacing whatever part in the files and happen to edit the file after activating. Thats when the trouble starts.
From there on, I can’t activate the edited widget anymore. When I click activate I see the admin-ajax request going out, returning {“done”:true}. I See the Thumbnail going colored. The “active” label appears on the widget. But on reload the widget is back to inactive. There are no JS errors in console.
Mostly after some time renaming IDs, filesnames and so of in the widgets file, it tends to work again. But so far I could not figure out what exactly goes wrong and how it gets fixed.
Is there anything I miss? Or a possibility to “flush” residues from whatever gets cached in files or database?
This is really bothering me and costing lots of time sadly.
Thanks in advance and cheers
Philipp
Nevermind me, having the files properly named obviously helps a lot…
Feel free to close.
