Custom loop template in child theme is not working

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 11 years ago

I have Vantage premium and would like to create a custom loop page to display featured images from my posts without an excerpt or heading.

I have successfully created a child theme and my styling of it is working perfectly.

Before I created a child theme I had created a new file called loop-portgrid.php with my appropriate changes. This was showing up in the options for the Blog Archive drop down menu (under Appearance – Theme Settings – Blog). After I decided to make a child theme, I moved that file under my vantage-child folder (within wp-content – themes). I have tried adding it under a loops sudirectory and just under the vantage-child folder. It is not showing up under the drop down menu anymore.

I know it works when I have the file in the original vantage – loops folder, but not in my child theme. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Jodi

That should work. Try checking if the custom template shows up in the post loop widget. On the page you want to use it insert a Post Loop widget via our Page Builder plugin, then check the template drop down list within that widget.
