Hi,

I have some issues I want to ask for. The new website should become a look and feel from an e-magazine.

1. Pages or articles

For this, in general … what is better? Using pages or articles for the website?

2. Home / Row Layout

How can I create a row layout like: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_pro (Underneath menue and trending now)
Row: 1/2 – 1/2 (splitted in 3 parts)

3. Home / Ticker

Is there any tool from SO for ticker-function, like in https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_pro

4. Home / Articles per categroy

How can I create such an blog layout? https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_style_pro/category/business (Starting 3 columns, Drones – Phones – Wearables) .. Picture and unterneath List.

5. Category Site

How can I create this layout, when I click on a specific category? Like on https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_style_pro/category/business/

6. Blog Article

I would like to have the picture of the blog visible in the overview/layout, but not visible in the blog itself. How to do?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Warmly,

Birgit

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Birgit

    Thanks for reaching out.

    1. Pages should be used for static content like About Us or Contact. Posts should be used for timely content like a blog post or article.

    2. You can use the Layout Builder widget to create rows within a column. To recreate the example you’d need a widget that pulls posts though. The Post Carousel widget is an example. You can also try the Blog Posts Grid and Portfolio widgets in Livemesh SiteOrigin Widgets, a third-party plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/livemesh-siteorigin-widgets/.

    3. You’d need a third-party plugin for that, I don’t have one to recommend at the moment.

    4. The layout of category pages would need to be handled by your theme. Vantage doesn’t have a layout that’s quite like that. You can view the Vantage blog layouts https://demo.siteorigin.com/vantage/ by hovering over the Blog Layouts menu item. If you’d like to use a SiteOrigin theme you can also check the blog layouts on offer from Corp and Unwind.

    https://demo.siteorigin.com/corp/
    https://demo.siteorigin.com/unwind/

Hover over Blog Layouts in each demo.

    5. Same as above.

    6. Most of our themes offer a theme setting to activate the post featured image on the archive page but deactivate the featured image on the single post page, that’s what you’d need. In our themes Blog settings are at CustomizeTheme SettingsBlog.
