That pretty much says it. When I try to crop an image the cropping tool is greyed out. Not a deal breaker but it can make life easier from time to time.

Hi Chazz
Definitely not obvious, what you need to do is start dragging on the image, the cropping button will then un-grey. The cropping tool is basically ready to go at all times, the button is just to confirm the crop.

Thanks. You know what happened, I read the little help blurb and it said click on the image. I did click on the image but nothing happened. I was stuck in a crazy mode of clicking on the image expecting the crop icon to light up or the box to appear. As a retired tech writer I’d like make a suggestion for that blurb:
“Click on the image, and “while holding the left mouse button down”, drag the mouse to display the cropping box. Adjust as needed and click the cropping icon when satisfied to confirm crop.”
We have been trained to expect something to happen when we click. I think it might help avoid any misunderstandings.
BTW – Aside from this miniscule complaint I am loving Vantage and all the Site Origin tools. Great job. You have cut weeks off of re-doing my site.
Thanks for the feedback Chazz, you’re quite right. The controls in the WordPress core are unfortunately outside of our control, I’m sure that’ll get improved as we move forward, I didn’t understand how to use the tool myself and use WordPress all day.
All the best for your project!
