Creating two primary menus

Hello there,

I know that the theme only support one Menu but my page should be in 2 languages and I have had quite of a hassle trying several plugin for translations without success so I created several page and group them in a second menu. Now this Menu is in the Header and it is being shown all the time. I would like it to be shown ONLY when users click on the danish flag.

I am not such a good programer but I imagine that the most be a line of code that can create a function saying something like. “WHEN click on “Flag” DISPLAY Menu 2 as PRIMARY Menu” and I guess I must put it in
file or so.

I am really bad at coding but I can try to follow the steps. If you guys could be so kind of helping me with a piece of code or a tutorial on the matter, it would be wonderful. Other ideas of how to achieve the same result are also welcome! It is my first site in WordPress and I am really trying to make it look professional.

Thank you very much in advance!

Best wishes

Mailin

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mailin

    Thanks for running Vantage.

Which translation plugin are you running? Menu translation is usually taken care of from the plugin perspective. If this isn’t possible we can then help with a child theme and conditional menu loading.

Hi Andrew, Thanks for your quick replay. I was using global translator but it did not do a good job regarding the quality of the translation to Danish. Therefore I uninstalled and I created pages in each language, then I grouped them into tow different menus on the site.
Could we tray instead “with a child theme and conditional menu loading”? I am not very familiarised with child themes but i can read more about it and try to follow your recommendations.
Thank you very much for your time and help.
    Good day for you!

    Hi, I Work Here

I realise you’re now quite far here but rather than child theming with conditional menus have you perhaps considered doing a quick test with Polylang and see how that works for you?
