Hello team

While trying to turn on ‘Copy Styles’ in v 5.2.1 I found that as soon as click save settings the box automatically becomes unchecked. why is it? what is the use of ‘Content Cache’ option in settings? should I turn on that setting?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Gopu,

Thank you for reporting the Copy Styles issue. I’ve logged that as a bug and it’ll definitely be fixed in the next update.

Content Cache will cache (read: store the data rather than generating it on the fly) the generated page builder data so that it doesn’t need to be generated on a page by page basis. There’s little reason not to use this setting outside of potential compatibility issues, be it with plugins or users using outdated browsers. To elaborate on that last point, the content cache cannot be used in conjunction with the Legacy Layout engine detection setting (which is under the layout tab) so certain users may have display issues if they’re using really old browsers.

    Hi Gopu,

He’s still around mate. He’s just not as visible due to transitioning into a different role.

I just talked to Greg about this issue. It’s likely the con (regarding a lack of outdated browser support) I outlined in my previous post isn’t going to be a thing anymore in 2.5.2 as he’s going to try and exclude them. As a result, there’s really no reason not to use the cache unless you run into plugin compatibility issues (which are unlikely).
