I recently inherited a few sites built in SiteOrigins. So I’m on a steep learning curve! On this site we have a custom post type called CASE STUDIES but I don’t have the flexibility of categories and tags, which would be helpful. Is there a way to Bulk convert these to a regular blog post -or- add categories to this custom post type?

Unfortunately, the custom post types you’re working with weren’t created using any of our plugins/products so we’re not 100% familiar with the setup. I will state that you should be able to add category support for the custom post type but it really depends on how it was created. Are you able to get in contact with the original developer to work if the custom post types were created through a plugin or through direct PHP? The former will be much easier for you and the latter will be… well, sadly quite complicated.
Now, as for converting the case study posts into normal posts, that should be possible but please note that any custom functionality may be lost in the transition – you may be able to reconfigure settings to allow for them to work with normal posts, but please understand that this, again, is dependent on how the custom post types were made.
To summarize, you’re going to have to talk to the people who originally created this website to work how they set things up.
