Hi,
After your most recent update with the Vantage Premium theme, our plugins Content Views and Recent Posts Widget Extended are suddenly not working. We use these plugins to display recent posts from specific post categories. The update rendered these plugins almost useless.
Just to add, it seems the problem happens if I use the plugins (as widgets) inside two rows (through Page Builder). Either the widgets are not appearing or the contents are all jumbled up.
Hi Version Daily
Sorry to hear about the new plugin issue you’ve run into. This sounds like a problem between your plugins and Page Builder. Widgets not working in Page Builder can happen due to JavaScript problems:
https://siteorigin.com/docs/page-builder/widget-compatibility/
The link above is something that you could perhaps send to the developers of these plugins and ask them if they can test with Page Builder.
From a support perspective there is unfortunately nothing we can do in the short term. I’ve logged this as a compatibility bug for the development team to look into when they’re able.
It’s possible to roll both Vantage and Page Builder back to their previous versions for an immediate solution. To figure out which one needs to be rolled back, switch over to a default theme like Twenty Fourteen and re-test. If the issue persists then Page Builder is the problem.

Rolling Page Builder back would involve deleting the plugin from Plugins, downloading the previous version from the link above and then installing via Plugins > Add New: Upload Plugin.
Hi Version Daily
Just to add to what Andrew said, please let us know if you need us to email you an older version of Vantage to test the version roll back.
Hi Andrew and Greg,
Many thanks for the replies. I tried all of your suggestions, switching to another theme or rolling back a previous version of Page Builder. Seems the problem is in my updated version of Vantage.
I think I would be needing to test the older version of Vantage.
Thanks for the feedback. Sorry to hear that didn’t help. If you could perhaps drop us a mail on [email protected] we’ll send through a ZIP of the last Vantage version so you can try rolling that back. Please include a link to this thread in that email.
Thanks
Hello,
I have already sent an email. Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the help guys!
Thanks, we’ll pick that up ASAP.
Hi everyone,
We still haven’t received the old version Vantage Premium.
Apologies, I see your mail. Sending now.
Sent.
Hi everyone,
We already got the file. Thanks a lot guys!
Great. Thanks for the update. Appreciate your understanding here.
Hi,
After installing and testing Vantage Premium version 2.2.3, the plugins Content Views and Recent Posts Widget Extended are now working properly. This does mean that the bug comes from the latest version of the theme? If it does, will it be fixed in the future?
Many thanks
If you point us to where we can download this plugin, we’ll be sure to check it out.
Hi,
For the Recent Post Extended plugin, here’s the link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/recent-posts-widget-extended/
For the Content VIews plugin, here’s the link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/content-views-query-and-display-post-page/
I’m having this same problem with Recent Posts Extended on Origami Premium. It works fine on TwentyFifteen. It also works fine if I add it through the Appearance|Widgets dashboard to the footer area (the one available widget area). But adding the same widget anywhere on the drag and drop Home Page tool OR through the page builder (on another page) does not work.
The widget formatting works – that is, I can set a red background, so clearly the page knows a widget is there, but it doesn’t show any content.
PS the Content View plugin works fine for me.
I added the above, because it provides a little more info on a similar problem, but I’m posting my own issue separately.
For sure, thanks for sharing. Noted. The feedback is most appreciated.
