Content not showing after update

Notice: This thread is over two years old; the information may be outdated. Please consider creating a new thread if you require free support. If you have an active SiteOrigin Premium license, you can email our premium support desk at [email protected].

After updating both the plugin and WP most of the content in the pages is not shown. If I edit the pages everything seems to be there but it simply doesn’t display. An example is page https://www.legix.pt/conteudos/

How can I fix this? Is it possible to install the previous version of the plugin to see if that is the problem?

Thanks,

Carlos

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Priberam,

By the looks of it, you have a number of areas where you’ve set rows/widgets to hide using a third party plugin. I suspect that plugin is having issues with the newest update. I would recommend disabling it to see if that helps.

If you’re not too sure what plugin is adding this functionality, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

We strongly recommend against reverting to a previous version as it will make resolving this issue harder. Regardless, please install WP Rollback and rollback SiteOrigin page Builder to the previous verison.

    Hi Alex,

I disabled all plugins in the web site as you suggested. The last one was “Page Builder by SiteOrigin”. The interesting thing is that the missing content (text and images) only appears when I disable this plugin. Of course now we don’t have layout but you can see that the text content is shown together with the Page Builder commands between []: https://www.legix.pt/conteudos/

So the question now is: is the “Page Builder” plugin that is hiding this content. Is this related to the last WP update?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Priberam,

Can you please reattempt the plugin conflict test, but this time, please do not disable any SiteOrigin plugins. This is very important because if you (for example) disable the SiteOrigin Widget Bundles widget, your widgets won’t be able to work. If you disable SiteOrigin Page Builder, you’ll see a very basic version of the page – the page itself isn’t working as it should even though it may appear as though it is.

If that doesn’t help, please leave all non-SiteOrigin plugins activate then please change to a different theme. Does issue remain?

    Hi Alex,

I activated the Page Builder plugin and, as you can see, the content is immediately hidden: https://www.legix.pt/conteudos/. I kept it disabled yesterday so that you could see that the content is displayed when the Page Builder plugin is not active. So, it seems that the problem is the Page Builder plugin.

Problem solved! Don’t know how but SiteOrigion Widget Bundles was not installed (the directory was empty!)
