Contact Form Required Fields and Post Submit Redirect

Hello,

I recently built a page with Page Builder and I am having trouble with two issues on the contact form widget.

First issue: I built out a pretty long contact form with several input fields and approximately 6 required fields. When I was testing, after clicking the submit button, the required fields showed an error message as though they were left blank even though I had entered values for them. Is this a known issue or is there any way around this? I took off required fields for the moment, but that isn’t a viable long term option.

Second issue: On clicking the submit button on the contact form, it redirects to the top of the webpage (it is a single page site). Is it possible to ideally redirect to another row for a follow up set of questions, or at least to keep the user on the same row to view the successful submission message?

Thanks for the help, besides these everything as been great with the product.

Harry

    Hi Asnien,

    1. That’s odd – this is not a known issue. Would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this please open up the contact page in the editor and click the Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

    2. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for getting back to me. I uploaded the export for the page to Google Drive, here is the link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1faOsZplRFv7WBN-TBBSZWJTID1xsm8P1/view?usp=sharing. Specifically it is the second (longer) contact form that is having is having issues with the required fields. Also, when I submit the longer form, the email I receive only shows some of the fields submitted.

    2. You can take a look at the page at http://www.asnienrealty.com

Thank you again for the help!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Asnien,

    1. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to replicate this issue. I did spot why this may happen though. Okay so basically, your setup isn’t really something we’ve designed for – we haven’t accounted for two contact forms to be linked.

    2. To clarify, are you submitting the first or second contact form? I ask as your browser, on page load, should scroll down to the top of the submitted contact form. This is happening with the provided layout but I haven’t tried your contact form on your website. Is it okay if I submit a test submission? If so, is there any note or anything you want me to mention so you know it’s a test submission?

    Hi Alex,

For the first issue, it happens for both contact forms. Maybe I could redirect the user to a new page with the follow up contact form on clicking submit?

The second issue happens on the second, longer contact form. Feel free to submit as many tests as you need, the site isn’t promoted yet.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Asnien,

Unfortunately, that’s not possible at this time.

Ah. That looks be a mismatch issue with the first contact form. I’ve been able to replicate this issue locally but only after inputting the data in the first contact form. I’ve logged this as a bug. In the meantime, I would recommend using just one SiteOrigin Contact widget.
