Contact Form — reply email is Mine instead of the submitter’s!

I’m applying your SiteOrigin Contact Form widget… everything is good about it in terms of the basic functionality. The interface is easy and it works. You can see the form at the very bottom of https://michaelfeerer.com/about/ (there are some other form plugins on the page I am trying too above it… ignore those).

But there’s one problem: The test emails I receive from the form, when I hit reply in my gmail to reply to them, they are addressed to ME instead of the form submitter. Is there any way to change this? Seems to me like contact forms should be this way be default… but for some crazy reason they are not. ;)

Thanks.
Michael

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Michael,

That’s odd. The contact form is designed to work exactly in the manner you’re after – reply to the user users email.

Would it be possible for you to send me an export of your contact form? To do this please open up the linked page in the editor and click the Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

Thanks Alex for your reply. It turns out it works… I was using one of my email addresses to test… and since that email address was linked to my others, it appeared as it did. When I used a different email address, it worked fine.

PS: You keep mentioning “Page Builder” in your last two replies to me, but I use Elementor. So I have no way to export in Elementor the contact form, at least that I can see. ;)

    Hi MFeerer,

    Great to hear! :)

Oh! Right, I forgot about your other thread. Sorry about that. To be honest, it’s a force of habit at this point.
